A review of Royal Mail by Clark written on Monday 1st of July 2013
A rather dull and overcast day here today in St. Helens 01/07/2013] - a day to catch up all those chores that one puts to one side on more sunnier days.
I know I will telephone the St. Helens Sorting Office and attempt to book a redelivery of a Royal Mail Signed For item.
I had received a 'something for you' card that had been placed through my front door on the 15th June 2013. Every day since receipt of the card I had telephoned several times a day the 'sorting office' in an attempt to have the item redelivered.
Alas they must be very busy at 'the office' because nobody ever answers the telephone [number 01744 744333]. Thursday last I had telephoned the Royal Mail main number to arrange a redelivery [08456112488]. A most helpful attendant had rebooked a redelivery for Saturday 29/06/2013. On the day in question I was out of bed early and dressed ready for the expected delivery. Glee oh glee a postman arrived at my door to deliver mail. I enquired of my expected redelivery item to be told 'don't know about that'. A dark cloud formed over what had been an otherwise pleasant day. I again telephoned the St. Helens sorting office - yet again no reply. I again telephoned the Royal Mail main office to enquire of my item - " it should have been delivered" I was told - mental note 'yes I know that'. The attendant added " they do have until 6pm to redeliver it". At last 6pm arrived and no redelivery - disappointed of St. Helens here.
Bright and early up and dressed again today Monday 1st July 2013 - I thought 'a new month a new start'. Postman delivered mail - still no redelivery of my Royal Mail signed for item. Another telephone call to the local sorting office again no reply [I was naive to think there would be]. Another telephone call to the main office - yet another attendant - who assured me that redelivery procedures 'at their end' had been adhered to.
Another redelivery has been booked for Wednesday 3rd July 2013 - needless to say I will not be out of bed early or in fact be waiting in for any redelivery.
A sad tale that can I suggest can be echoed by many Royal Mail customers !!!
